When your candle has reached the end of its burn, the vessel doesn’t have to. Allow any remaining wax to cool and fully harden before removing it.
To remove the remaining wax: Place the vessel in the freezer for several hours or overnight. Once the wax has hardened and contracted, gently loosen it from the sides using a butter knife or other dull utensil. Lift the wax out and discard it. Do not use a sharp knife or force the wax out, as this may damage the vessel.
Once the remaining wax has been removed, wipe out any residue and clean the vessel with warm, soapy water. Do not submerge the vessel for an extended period. Allow it to dry completely before giving it a new purpose.
From holding small plants and flowers to storing everyday essentials or simply becoming a piece you keep on display, there are plenty of ways to give your vessel a second life.
